Clair is an experienced and aggressive attorney focused on defending and advocating for consumer rights.  She has successfully represented consumers in state and federal courts by filing lawsuits against Equifax, Experian, TransUnion and debt collectors for violations of state and federal consumer protection laws.  She is very knowledgeable of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act and consumer's rights under them.

Clients have benefitted from Clair’s consumer advocacy experience, as she provides a diverse variety of legal services such as credit repair, dispute of debts, defense of credit card lawsuits, defense of mortgage foreclosures, mortgage modifications and filing Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcies. 

Additionally, Clair is equally experienced in estate planning and estate administration.  She assists clients in preparing Last Wills and Testaments, Powers of Attorneys, Living Wills, Guardianships and Trusts.  She also makes visits to clients in their homes or care facilities if they are not mobile or are unable to travel.   Clair has also advocated in court on behalf of families in probate matters on numerous occasions, including revoking fraudulently obtained Letters of Administration, Will contests and has litigated in both Orphan’s Court and the Register of Wills.

She is committed to giving back to the community and is a pro bono attorney for the Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent Program (VIP).  She has been recognized for her exemplary pro bono work by the First Judicial District in Philadelphia and previously received the Philadelphia VIP’s Chancellor’s Award for her commitment to these services.
 Clair Stewart received her undergraduate Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada.  She obtained her Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) from St. Thomas University in 1999 and her Masters of Law Degree in Taxation (LL.M.) from the Villanova University School of Law in 2000.

She is also an adjunct professor at Peirce College in Philadelphia where she has taught bankruptcy and legal writing and research. 

Clair is admitted to practice in all counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as the U.S. District Court and U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey.
